Our Associate Pastor Mike Yurik has accepted a call to serve at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Virginia. The elders of Faith have called for a congregational meeting to dissolve his pastoral relationship with Faith. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 7 at 10:15 a.m. in the sanctuary during Sunday School hour (Children's Sunday School will take place as normal). Mike's ministry at Faith will continue through July 24.
While their transition will be filled with sadness for us in saying goodbye, we give thanks to God for his clear leading as they move to serve in a strategic pastoral role at Trinity. The departure of a beloved staff member is a challenge but this is a positive pattern for Faith Church in launching staff into expanded roles in other ministries. We have former staff members serving as missionaries, church planters, and pastors. We want to prioritize the kingdom of Jesus.
As an associate pastor, you, the congregation, need to formally accept Mike's resignation, which is the purpose of this congregational meeting.
