In a world of uncertainty, are you asking questions? Since 2011, Faith Explored has considered the big questions of life and now we continue that journey with Hope Explored.  Now you’re invited to join the next session that strives to give you time to consider life’s big questions and a forum to ask your own.
Hope Explored examines the questions that all people universally ask, like "What is my purpose?", "What has gone wrong with the world?" and "What makes the world right again?" The environment is informal and relaxed. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible. You won't be asked to read aloud, sing or pray. And you can ask any question you want.

EACH WEEK

- Two hours of your time

- An engaging nightly topic

- Discussion groups

- Q&A

 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Is Hope Explored?

Hope Explored is our three-week introduction to the Christian faith.  Each week there will be a brief talk followed by small-group conversation where you can ask questions or simply sit back and listen.  All viewpoints are welcome.  Faith Explored is a low-key, low-pressure, and lots of fun.

Who Is Hope Explored For?

Hope Explored is for anyone who wants to investigate Christianity informally with a group of other people.  Whether you have previous experience of Church, Christians, and the Bible, or none at all, this course is for you.  Everyone is welcome - from the most sympathetic church member to the convinced atheist.  We will respect your background, culture, and beliefs.  Tell us as little or as much about yourself as you feel comfortable.

How Much Does It Cost?

Nothing.  It's completely free.  It's our gift to you.

Why Is Faith Church Doing This?

Christians count it a real privilege to explain the truth and relevance of the Christian message.  We don't have all the answers, but believe that we have exciting news to share about Jesus Christ.  Faith Presbyterian Church desires to be a place where people in our community can come and learn about Christianity in a relaxed, non-threatening setting.

What Goes On?

The course is intended to be conversational so everyone will be in a smaller group no matter how many people attend.  Each week, there will be a short talk by a speaker and time specifically devoted to discussion in your groups.  There will also be time every week specifically set aside for taking any questions you want to ask, on any topic whatsoever related to the big questions of life, Christianity and the Bible.

How Long Does The Course Last?

The course runs for three weeks on Wednesday evenings.

What If It Isn't For Me?  Can I Back Out If I Want To?

Of course you can.  There is no obligation.

Do I Have To Bring Anything?

No.  All course materials are provided for you.

What About My Children?

We provide childcare for children age 0-6. After joining us for dinner, children age 0-3 can play in our nursery. Children age 4yrs. - 6th grade can join in the fun at Faith Kids Club which provides Crafts, Games, and Bible Activities. Children in 7th grade and up can stay for our Hope Explored Course.

Is It "Churchy"?

We hope not.  It's not a church service.  There's no praying, singing, or clapping.  And, you won't be asked to read aloud.

Am I Going To Get Preached At?

Each evening includes a talk designed to explore one of the big questions of life and then explain how Christianity addresses that question.  Hopefully, you'll find it challenging and helpful, but the goal is not to preach at you.  It's to stimulate a greater understanding of what the questions with which everyone struggles and what Christians believe.  The group leaders will facilitate discussion and try to answer questions.

Will I Be Asked To Talk, Pray, Sing, or Read Out Loud?

No.  You are free to just sit back and listen.  We've established some general Ground Rules to make sure this entire course is as comfortable as possible for you to explore life's big questions.  Here are the rules: (1) Don't Be Nervous.  You'll never be asked to sing, pray, or read out loud. (2) Respect Everyone.  Every person, every question, every objection will be treated with the utmost respect. (3) Maintain Trust. Whatever comes up in the room, stays in the room unless permission is given to share it.  Every week we review these rules so we do our best to ensure the environment for a respectful, constructive conversation.

What Curriculum Is Being Used For This Course?

In addition to some content from Pastor Kevin here at Faith, we use the Hope Explored course produced by Christianity Explored Ministries.  You can learn more about Christianity Explore Ministries at christianityexplored.org.
